There are some "rules" that I have read about, but I am not sure I fully understand the question. At first it sounded like you were saying you were not going to move water between floors. Then you mentioned moving the sump to the basement.
I think more details may help others give good advice...
I am interested to hear/see what others who do not have drilled tanks and are using overflow box(es) are using for filtration.
Pics would be helpful if you have any.
Thanks Hawkeye. That is my main problem, I have little in the way of flat rocks. And they can be difficult to find.
I will have to look into the magnets. I just heard someone talk about a magnet rock. Never heard of that before.
Not clear on how the magnet setup works, but will research it.
The reason I would add rock is to add more aquascape for coral placement. I would say I have about 35-40 lbs of live rock for a 60 gallon tank. I believed it could handle some more.
The short answer is color.
Metallic bright coloration is sometimes referred to as ultra grade or electric.
The still attractive, but less brightly colored clams often are referred to as 1st grade.
Name is Dave and I am a native to New Jersey. Even went to Rutgers.
I am married. I just celebrated 10 years with my wife, who I first met in highschool, but did not start dating until after college.
My two girls(2 and 4) keep me busy when I am not working (IT) or doing something with my new...
I am planning to add some more live rock to my tank, but I have some concerns.
First, the tank already has a decent amount in it, so I do not want to kill anything.
Second, I will probably be shifting some of the rock already in place which is buried partly by the sand. Concerns of a nasty...
Thanks again Hawkeye...the help is much appreciated. I do not have my card...but that is understandable. I will see if he can look me up.
And maybe I will even see the famous couch...or maybe it's an infamous couch...not sure on that one ;)
Thanks Hawkeye. You are right. I guess being new to this board and the way he phrased it made me think he was saying it was his clam at his store.
Appreciate the heads up, and I will give them a call ahead of time.
Alright Rod, I re-arranged my weekend schedule so I could come see these clams. So they better be good ;). And hopefully you will still have some nice ones left on Sunday. :)
Thanks Magic. They both look to be Ultra grade. I like the OGII clam, but 129 is a little steep for a clam.
I think I may wait until MACNA to see if they have a nice selection.
Thanks Audi0s for the offer. Much appreciated.
I am having a difficult time finding a nice Ultra Grade Maxima or Crocea Clam. Are there any local shops that tend to carry them?
While I am in SJ, I do travel up to the North to visit family, so location in the state is not an issue.
Is it safe to say they should have some nice clams at...
I have a 60 gallon cube 24" X 24" X 24". I have a Koralia 4 powerhead, but the flow appears to be too strong, and I am interested on what powerheads people like.
Since I will be looking to get a new powerhead, I was hoping others could provide their opinions on the best powerheads on the market...
I had a similar issue with the Aiptasia. I used Aiptasia-X with great success. The key there was to go in slow and have the Aiptasia curl around the injector. This meant they were not in protective mode and less likely to release their spores. Then you inject. Try not to leave any aiptasia...
