Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
If that thing is glass, it's just a matter of time before you destroy it with an ill timed live rock move. If it is plastic is should be OK, but it would probably still be fragile. I prefer succulent pots like these...
For reasons I can't fathom, they're $20.99 on Amazon:

Ely's is in Florham Park. Great store for freshwater and koi. They have some saltwater fish and a very few inverts, but no frags.
I'm close so I go there for my live black worms and live brine shrimp.
I've had an Apex for years. I think I'm up to 20 or more distinct modules. I added a Hydros 2 years ago because I wanted to be able to run both Gyres and Octo Plus 4s without the need for (costly) controllers or bricks. (And, I must admit, I wanted something new to play with.) I've stopped...
I've got a whole lot of Salt Water mollies you can have. I had Steve at Ely's track down two pairs of these 'original' Mollies for me. Now one of my holding tanks is overrun with them. Doh...
I think it was more like 2012. (I did a search for "Tiler" on the our whole site.) I correctly remembered that his name was Jason. I also remember that his wife had a liking for Chardonnay, and so I brought a bottle of it to the meetings at his home. The most impressive meeting I recollect...
I'm a bit befuddled by any loss in the quality of the ROX .8 carbon. The stuff is mostly used by people in higher places than us (i.e. scientists!). If scientists found their ROX .8 source was of dubious quality, I think that would have filtered down to us low life types by now. Of course if...
I must agree with your comment on their salt prices. I used to make runs from north NJ to Hidden Reef to pick up salt for myself and for a few other local reefers. My favorite salt was made in Baltimore, MD by Marine Enterprises., and you just couldn't beat HR prices on it as their shipping...
How does one get notice of these behind-the-scene's tours? Is there a Jenkinson's mailing list?
My favorite behind-the-scenes tour was at Coney Island. They had a walkway running over the shark tank. The smell of ammonia was almost enough to completely knock you off of the walkway...
My...
Sad indeed. Sounds as bad as when the Chinese restaurant in their same (hidden) strip mall caught fire and put them out of business for 6+ months. That event cost them all the livestock they had in the store, and totally water damaged everything else. At lease that first event resulted in...
Reading this thread brought back an old chuckle to me. Many, many years ago (when the group was more northerly-NJ-centric than it is today) we engineered a Group Carbon Buy. Each buyer purchased a 40-lb bag of the no-commercial-name stuff. I was involved with the pre-purchase testing as I had...
Wouldn't it be cheaper just to get new rock for your new build? With the new rock in, you could do whatever is necessary to kill all the bubble algae on the nano rocks and put them in the new build when they are clean.
Is your reef overrun with unwanted and evil sea squirts and/or colonial ascidians?
Fess up! I know some of you have this terrible affliction!
If you are plagued with them,, here's the answer to your prayers:
And, here's the link you need...
