Good monrning. I am looking for opinions on power heads. On a 36” long mixed reef tank. Is there a significant Benefit to running 2 small power heads, over one large one? The cost of 2 small units is much more than a single large one. They will be controllable, so they can be dialed up and down as needed. I doubt 1 small one will do it, but another option is to start with 1 small one and see how it does. Add another one later if and when needed.

With one power head you need to worry about dead spots. If you are sure one can do the trick then go for it. In my 46g which is 36" I used to Korila's to ensure not dead spots.
The second benefit is if one fails at least you have the other moving water. With one if it dies you need to scramble if you don't have a backup.

I've been using the jebao powerheads for over 2 years and mine still work great. I clean them every 2 to 3 months really good and have had zero issues with them.

I have 2 on my system and they defiantly move water
I have a 36g bow front and have two Jabeo RW4s in it. The nice thing about two power heads is it 'change up' the flow. I have heard corals like that.
