1320wrx's 33long build- from start to finish

I will post updated pics of the sump tonight. I got to drill and install the bulkhead that my pump will be plumbed into today before work.

Thanks again to Aquatic Obsessions for bringing me the bulkhead to the swap at the last minute..

your home already.. whats wrong with you. Broke? :)

LOL.

Actually - I was manning the paypal laptop in the lobby. It was a bit removed from the event (though I got to see everyone rush in/out of the meeting hall) and while I was waiting for transactions - I surfed njrc! ;D

I think i got on the road at 6:30pm...most of the folks were still there breaking down. I had promised the wife I'd be home by 5...lol. oops.

Here are the finished pics of the sump after i drilled it and installed the bulkhead

looks awesome.

So it's (right to left) -

intake/skimmer?, under a baffle, then refugium, then over/under baffles to return?

It is doing well, I fed it a small silverside earlier today, it was the first time i ever saw an anemone eat, it was pretty cool.

My RBTA i put in the tank didn't open up yet, it it normal for them to take a few weeks to fully expand.

I just ordered my return pump today, so I should be able to finish setting up the tank, and leak test it by the end of the weekend if I get the pump by Friday.

I got a Blueline Velocity T4. I know its a big pump for this size tank but i will have a manifold that is running a phosphate ractor and the spraybar in my refugium so i want to be able to have enough flow.

Here are some pics of the rocks I made out from dry rock, acrylic rod,and great stuff foam.

I think I am going to make a plywood base for the metal stand to sit on. The tank is very low and I want to raise it up about 10 inches so It's easier to see.

It looks like my return pump wont be here before the weekend so I'll have to wait another week to get the tank filled up.

looks good steve. why dont you get the rocks kick started in a tub with water and grab some rubble from the fish store to get it seeded? ya gots to be skieving to get it runnin already.

Hey looks great...yeh get those rocks going...are you doing to have a particular type ecosystem with the tank or mixed reef? It is a pretty cool shaped tank looking forward to see what you do with it.

It is going to be mostly rics. I have 35 different rics in my biocube waiting to go in, along with three clams. After i get my calc reacter i will be puttin in a few peices of SPS in like a birdsnest and a orange cap

Update:

I have finished the base I made out of 3/4" plywood, it raises the tank 12 inches, It makes it alot easier to see into the tank.

I also finished the plumbing for the tank, I mounted a few peices of plywood to the walls so I can attach the PVC with clips. The drain is done also.

I also cut 2 peices of plywood to close in the sides of the stand. I laso cut out a hole where my power strip will be flush mounted.

Last night I filled the tank with saltwater, put in 40lbs of live sand, and put my live rock in. So far so good, I will post pics of the tank when I get home.
