2014 Meeting Hosts wanted

Well, as we say goodbye to 2013, we look forward to another great year of meetings for NJRC. As of right now, we're just starting to look for volunteers to host our monthly club meetings. If anyone is interested in showing off your tank and opening up your homes to fellow members, please reply in this thread so that we can start filling out the new schedule.

If you have any questions about what it takes to host a meeting, feel free to ask here or send me a PM.

Also, we don't yet have a date for our annual Frag Swap for 2014. We were originally planning to have it in the Spring (April or May) but the Expo center is booked up just about every weekend except Easter weekend. So, we're going to shoot for late September or early October. We'll adjust the meeting schedule when we get a firm date picked out. I think we will also try to revive our annual "April Event" again since the Swap will be in the Fall.

Anyway, here is a rough schedule for 2014. I will update this here and in the official Meeting Schedule thread once that gets posted.

January - North
February - Central
March - Fish Brain
April - April Event (we will try to keep this "Central" if possible)
May - Dnov99
June - Central - Mnat and NikkiT
July - South - MatteZ
August - North - magic
September - Central or Frag Swap
October - South or Frag Swap
November - North - AriMiko43
December - Central / Holiday Party

Note - the Frag Swap will likely be at the NJ Expo Center in Edison, NJ again. This would be considered "Central" so depending which month we have it, the other month (Sept. or Oct.) will be the "South" meeting.

January is most important since it's next month so if anyone up North wants to get this rolling, please speak up ASAP!

What is the ''April Event''?

Back before Sandy messed us up, our yearly schedule included the Frag Swap in the Fall and then we would try and do a smaller event in the spring (usually April) where we bring in a speaker and do a true frag swap (no vendors) or lotto. We have had Ken Neidermeyer, Copps, Julian Sprung and Tony Vargas all do April events for us before Sandy forced us to have the swap in June. That is why we had the speaker in December this year, to balance out the swap. In 2014, we are going to have the swap back in the fall again, so we want to restart the April event.

I will grab the June meeting, and possibly more depending on if we can get some other volunteers up in here up in here.

We were planning on hosting during the summer but if the club is stuck we could do February, but we can only do Sat mar 1st, not sure if that's an issue.

I think March 1st is shaping up to be the trip to Dr. Mac and PEA.

HAHAHA sounds like my wife lol Except I can set up my 300 gallon after I renovate the bathroom lol

I would be interested in November for the North Jersey meeting. I will be upgrading my 156 gallon to a 300 gallon DD within the next 2 months and would like it to have time to settle in and grow out. PM me what is involved in hosting a meeting please. Thank you
