Since most of my posts were lost, it's time to start new ones and since I am working on the 40B this is where I will start.

First, sump I did last week that I did a wet test on yesterday

I had 1/4" glass custom cut at the glass shop next to Redsand. One is 6" tall and two are 8" tall.

The short one on the right is just a divider between where I will keep some live rock and the skimmer. I spaced the baffels of the bubble trap on the left to accept a regular eshops foam filter. ;)

Now I just need to get it in the stand. Not an easy thing to do when there is a tank with 40 gallons sitting on it. ::)

Sump will go in when I drain, clean, drill and paint the 40B. She is getting a G-H 700 kit. ;D

Step Four: Place Sump in Stand

Tomorrow I will dry fit all the plumbing and then I have to wait for some nice weather to paint the tank.

I have some pics on my phone I have to upload. Since this build happened so fast and I've been working on the 65 for the last month and a half, I just never got to update this one.

Rome wasn't built in a day, but this tank was done in a weekend! Day after I drilled the tank, the weather cleared and it was painted. I had most ot the water from the tank stored in a 30 gallon barrel so I just made up the difference and the tank was functioning by Monday night.

I swapped out the Nova Extream Pro (6x39w) for a Sundial (4x39w). The tank is fish only so no need for all that light, even 4 bulbs is overkill.

Two weeks after the tank was up and running I added some dead rock that I only cured for two weeks (big mistake) and I had the hair algae outbreak of the year. It was on the rocks, sand and even growing on the glass!

I added a biopellet reactor and two weeks later the HA was brown and things were looking better. The puffer eats any snails I put in there so I'm glad the pellets worked. Pellets combined with 4 hermits and I'm totally algae free now. :D
