40 gallon reef

Nice. I really had a hard time with skimmers. People kept telling me me bigger is better. I Couldn’t get them to work. I almost gave up on them. The one I have now is even bigger than needed. It works, but maybe too well. I would go out ona limb and say your probable better of with a slightly undersized one than too big.

I made a decision on mounting my kessils.i was going with a diy lighting rail but I was estimating cost at home depot and by the time I bought material and tool it ws cheaper for me to buy another kessil gooseneck.which I found online on sale clearance! woot!!
I can't say enough about kessil customer service! These guys are the best the first time I used them I had a problem with the power supply on my light which was out of warranty and they sent me a new one and this time I lost the bracket for my gooseneck and there shipping it to me free of charge.I love this company and will continue to use there products, plus there lights look great on a reef tank!
the lights are at 50 percent and I dont have color adjusted just yet.iam thinking one may be sufficient.

I have a glass top on my display, works great for the fish room, would look bad in the house. You can get a lid made for your tank, plexi frame and clear mesh netting inside.

I tried plexiglass on my 40b. Spent around $70 for it. It will bow on you. How about a DIY glass lid. All the parts are available at Lowes/HD.

If anyone is looking for any of these, hit me up. I got Mike most of these when he was just starting out.
Blue Discosomas, Superman Ricorsia, reversersuperman Discosomas, Hammer, Frogspawn or green stripped mushrooms. Other stuff too. His tank was looking good till his shut down recently.

Really looking forward to his new build.
