Has anyone else seen this guys build on Reef 2 Reef? Its unbelievable. Its a 400g Starfire glass tank with just about custom everything. From Gem Tangs to a TRIO of crosshatch triggers. Oh and also SPS dominate. He lost over $4000 in fish within the first few months due to intestinal parasites I believe. Bummer.

Makes me want to start planning out my future tank now :)

That's nothing. My old boss is building a 30k gallon system in his house. Yes that's right, 30k. He bought several peppermint angels and narcosis angels, and half of them died.

yeah that's insane too lol. i just think anything more than 300g is crazy. I just I'll keep dreaming Lol

This the hedge guy on RC? That build is ridiculous. It's more like the house is being built around the tank.


I find it amazing that people would spend thousands on a build, and cannot spend less then $100 to get a QT tank running to protect the investment.

Yeah I can't believe after the 18k he dropped into this tank, he only has a 40g QT tank. He didn't decide to QT until AFTER he lost $4000 worth of fish! Makes no sense

I've seen the house. It's a castle lol. They gutted it just for his tank, built an extension for his office/3k reef tank. Dude is my idol!

while qt is good it wasnt the issue in that guy on R2R. Turned out he got the parasite from the raw seafood he was from his local food store as food for his fish. I remember reading that he has a friend thats a biologist or something and was able to send one of the dead fish for testing and thats how they were able to determine what it was and what the cause.

oh wow, I must've missed that part. that's such a shame. I couldn't imagine being in his shoes in that situation :/
