Well.
Let's start with the stand. I have zero to no experience in this, and I'm going to do it by ear.
I found some old luber in the garage rafters, think its 1x2 or so. Found about 6-8 8' pieces, so theres my frame.
I'm guessing I need a frame.
So I made these, 24"x12"...
Then I took 4 upright pieces, 36" each. I wanted to put them in the frame, but realized that then I couldn't tack the siding to them, so I sorta did this...
Of course, its all crooked as he!!, so to fix this I decided to add more wood.
Added a tall brace in the back and an extra piece of wood on the front right to support a door, figuring it migt need some extra umph...
Still some minor wobble.
Solution - more wood!
I added a shelf.
Also did a bit of skinning tonight and, though wobbly (and 1/2" larger depth on the top than the bottom, it seems to be getting a bit more satble.
So, amateur week begins!
Had a laugh as my wife said to me, 'You've been doing this all day, and that's it?'
I said, 'I know, can you imagine if Hockeynut stopped by? He'd be 'WTF, get out of the way', and would have a full stand built perfectly with a deck and jacuzzi in an hour.'
But, I'm having fun, right up to the moment I hear the tank hit the floor.
