Picked up the tank and stand tonight. Bulk head cracked so picking up new ones. It came with the following companies
Oak stand
Reef Octopus skimmer 110
Eshopps sump RS100 3rd gen
Hydor power heads
Coralife led
A few 5 gallon mixing jugs
Glass top
Misc items

The bulk head is cracked so will replace it.
Wife wants me to paint stand black. Problem tank forum is oak, how do I paint thst? Or talk wife out of painting it.

My current lights won't work for this tank so will need to replace them.

Will post some pics tomorrow.

Yes oak can be painted. Simply sand and paint. But will take several coats. Good thing is it surely must have had a finish so it’s already technically sealed. Congrats on the new set up.
I look forward to watching the build

Grats!
Sand it down and stain it black so it keeps a dark woodtone.
I plan on doing the same thing with the chameleon cage.

The stand is not a concern. I want to know best way to paint tank plastic trim black without causing issues with inhabitants.

Totally fine to use just make sure it is fully cured. Make sure to prep before spraying it the color you want. If you don't prep it will chip as time passes

Taking pics to share I did not realize a few things.

Plastic triangle piece of brace is cracked and a weird marking in the glass bottom corner.

Plastic is fixable.
Glass. Tuff pic to be sure. Looks like a blunt impact fracture that could be good. Sharp impacts tend to make fractures that walk over time. It appears to be superficial Or. Surface only. And that it did not pass thru the glass and make contact with the silicone. If those things are true. My bet is the glass is fine no need to worry. If you can take a better pic it will help

Matt, thanks. The glass you cannot feel anything on either side. I wonder if its from being strapped down in move and some bumps.
