A/C took a dump

So to add to my problems, Tuesday afternoon my central air decided to die. Luckily it's been a bit cooler lately but I'm still concerned about heat. Yesterday I went the day without lights. Today I only went with the blues for about half of the total. Luckily I run my tank a little higher temp wise then most cause of the T5's. I average 80.5 temps with about a degree each way. Any thoughts on how I should manage my lighting schedule while I'm waiting for my new A/C? Probably gonna be a week or so. Thanks in advance.

John, not sure how your tank is situated and the room conditions, but if possible, I’d pick up a small window unit. They are now relatively inexpensive….a buck and a quarter….for a thermostatically controller 5000 btu AC unit. Even when you get your house AC back online, this little window job works well with controlling your fish room. This is what I’ve done….a small window job in the fish room.

They sell cheap fans at target/walmart they are like little usb desk fans that have a plug adapter. they are like $4. I have 2 blowing on my tank and 2 on the sump. the kick a$$

I gave the window unit some though but then remembered that my windows in that room are the ones that open outward. Window unit won't work. So far the ceiling fan on high has done well with keeping the temps inline. My real concern lies in if we end up hitting 90 anytime soon. If that happened I'm f'ed.
Gonna pick up a fan for the sump tomorrow. As for the lights I'm gonna go with 1 day off 1/2 day on and see how things go. I'm home all weekend so frozen bottles will be available if need be.

Can you set up a temp tank in the basement? A bit of work but might help if the heat goes up. I would offer to hold some for you but not while I'm dealing with my current problems.

You know I was thinking of that. With the $1 per gal sale at Petco I could get a 40 breeder that might just do the trick. I got the A/C guy coming tomorrow so I should have a good idea if how long I may need to wait.

I think I'm gonna take you up on the offer. I'm working today, and tomorrow I got my sons birthday party are you free on Sunday, I could stop by then?

New AC coming tomorrow. Luckily the outside temps have been a bit cooloer otherwise I'm sure i would have had a total loss. Max tank temp was 83.7 a couple of days ago. Only corals still looking bad are the acros which I think have gotten worse with the rising temps. At this point I'm close to throwing in the towel with them.

Oh I'm not giving up just gonna let what happens, happen. I have no problem at all having a montipora tank. They are my favorites anyway.
