Adding dry rock

So, for all the years I've been in this hobby, I never added dry rock direct to my tank.
I'm thinking of replacing one of the rocks in the tank that takes up about 20% of my rock space.
Was going to replace it with a piece of Marcorocks Reef Saver premium dry rock.
Anyone done this? Bad idea?

If you have the option, I would do a waterchange and save that waterchange water in a bucket with a air pump. Put the bucket infront of one of your vents to the house that pumps out heat if you don’t want to run a heater. Atleast you can then let the bacteria from the tank somewhat culture the rock, and anything that leaches from the rock will leach into the dirty water first. With my tank I would do that, I’m very cautious because of some of the sps in my tank cost too much for me to risk. It should be fine honestly but I’m better safe then sorry.

I just randomly add dry rock occassionally. naybe I use some sump pieces for another little setup. Just replace those few pieces with dry rock. Plenty enough bacteria to go around. All the dry rock I am adding has been bleached/dechlorinated/rinsed/dried. So not much dead organic material breaking down.
