AI Sol Blue/Vega upgrade or Orphek Nilus

Im thinking of buying the Orphek Nilus light to replace my AI Sol Blue, but before I do I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Orphek cause its a lot more than doing a Vega upgrade?

I have been running the Vega's for several months and love them. They are so much better than the SOL blues in so many ways. I have no experience with that Orphek light, but you are welcome to check out my Vega's at any time.

@Darren, my main concern with the Vega is that I'm worried that red acans and blastos will continue to turn orange. That was my case with the Sol Blue and I heard a lot of other people had the same problem. Did you experience anything like this with the Vega. Also, I love SPS and had great growth with the Sol, how's the Vega with SPS? Much appreciated and I would definitely like to come see the Vega and your tank.

Frank I cannot give you any advice with regards to blastos or acans as i do not have any in my DT, but I would think that they would do this under any LED light not just AI's. The growth with my SPS has been a little slower with the Vega's as they arent the par monsters like the SOL's but the color spectrum is just far and away superior to the SOL's. I used to have to supplement with T5's but not any longer, SPS growth is still very good. Your welcome to come down any time, just shoot me a PM.

I just switched to 2 Vegas from 2x 150W halides and 4x T-5's. I was without lights for a week and lost color in my SPS. It has been a week now and I can see some color coming back with the Vegas.
