I have been experiencing a significant amount of green hair algae in my system for the past 2 weeks. At the recommendation of Sid and after reading about API's Algaefix I have decided to give it a try.

I will begin dosing according to the directions and log the effects it has on the algae issue.

Per a thread at RC I will stop skimming for the initial phase, but continue running carbon to help polish the water as API states the carbon will not have any ill effects with the AF.

I used it for 2 months.

It did reduce the hair algae, but it is not totally gone. The macro in my sump is still growing, but at a slower rate.

The down side is I have had a cyano bloom since I started. I took a break 2 weeks ago to see what happens.

I'm on dose 3 I think? I'm doing 15ML every 3 days so I did mine Saturday I'll dose again Wednesday or should it be Tuesday? I always get confused with that lol!

So far havn't noticed anything really changing, my brain coral seems a bit pissed off, but otherwise everything else seems fine.
