Alkalinity levels

For the last few months my alk has consistently been anywhere from 6.9 - 7.1. As I have been adding coral to my tank it’s been slightly dropping. The last few weeks it was 6.8 and today it is 6.7.

As I understand it these levels are not terribly low and I do weekly water changes to try and keep the nutrients as accurate as possible. I have approximately 80 gallons of water and my weekly water changes vary from 10-15 gallons a week. It all depends on how my tank is looking.

I’m wondering if I should start dosing alk to slowly raise the levels or change salt mix. I currently use brightwell salt mix and dont want to dose if I don’t have to.

I’m trying to keep things as simple as possible without chasing numbers. I just want a happy healthy tank with consistent numbers. The coral that I am stocking my tank with are mainly LPS, soft coral and mushrooms / zoas.

Thanks

Looks like you need to start dosing 2 part.
You probably can dose kalkwasser using a dosing
Pump. Corals like stability so big alk swings are not good for corals. Dosing will add alk/calcium in some amounts all day long.

If its just Alk that's low you can try Randy Holmes recipe with baking powder. Its pretty easy. I use ESV 2 part cause my Alk and Calc were low.
