How does your nitrate and phopshate look?
Also what lighting do have? At least from your pictures it seem to be attached to the topmost point of you rockwork as if looking for more light.

How long has the tank been running? Typically you would want to wait 6 months to a year before introducing an anemone to make sure the tank has "matured". Also what type of lights are you using? I agree with Roca, it maybe looking for stronger light and if the flow in the front of the tank is strong it maybe causing the nem to only search in the back of the rockwork while moving around. Just my two cents, hope the nem turns out okay!

I remember your post in the introduce yourself forum saying this is a 35 gallon tank that's been up for around 8 months right? If you think of what it looked like when you saw it wherever you bought it from, does it seem like it was ever just as or more perky than that in your tank? If not it would point to your tank not being ready for it from the start either in chemistry or in lighting most likely.

Assuming you have a light capable of supporting the anemone and it was healthy for a while before this started then something must have changed in the tank recently. Have you measured for ammonia in during this time? Added any new filtration components? Did you ever try feeding it anything?

The anemones don't like high flow...just enough to make a gently sway other wise they keep moving

Hi guys... the light is a kessil a150 ocean blue . And no ammonia. I’ll try to play with the flow a little bit. I’ll try keep it pointing up all the time an see how works out... also thought of putting it in a container so is easy to feed reef roids.. I was feeding it but stop because wasn’t closing after so I thought is not taking it.. I have a little baby one that looks just fine..

hello
Your lights might not be strong enough. If the anemone was in tank in the LFS with high light it’s not going to be happy in your tank with low light. You don’t need to feed the anemone.
leave it alone and it will find a place that it likes and it will attach it self to the rock.
don’t touch it or move just leave it Alone.
if you could feed frozen food like LRS to the tank the anemone will grab food from the water. Make sure your pumps in the tank are anemone proof with a cover.
the kessil a150 is a older light and it’s made for tanks that are 12 x18 so nano tanks.
what are the dimensions of your tank ?

Not sure if this will help much. But a little more info never hurts.
I have and have had lots of anemones (27) and they seem to have personalities like dogs and cats. In same tank some stay put while others roam. Some will close up for a few days while others never seem to close. However. They ALL like to eat. We all know anemones split. It’s just what they do. And it is normal. If one here and there splits. That’s normal. But if several split at the same time. They are unhappy with water conditions and possibly. Lighting. However, generally. If they are closed it is NOT because of low light. Low light makes them climb up and spread out assumedly to get more. As they like light a lot. I have seen them close up in hospital tanks that over lit because they have no shelter to adjust were they are . As far as feeding. I do not feed them everyday. They pull food from the water column that fish don’t eat. They only get specifically fed about once week. As far as water flow. That should not mater. Again. I have nems that sit in front of a pump all day waving like a flag. And others in fairly calm water. The thing is. THEY move and settle were THEY want to. I do not recommend YOU MOVING an unhappy nem. They WILL settle were THEY want to be. Even If it seems like an odd spot Like on a heater. Hope this helps. Please post to let us know any changes

Ok I’ll let it be!!! Was thinking of moving it because where it is now I can’t even see it. And if I do something like this I can feed reef roids or frozen.. this guy looks like have very tiny tentacles now and don’t react to the food.. honestly I do not know how is still attached and alive..

You have to be careful mixing anemones.
From what I understand wild anemones and tank raised anemones should not be in the same tank. Leave them alone and they will go to their favorite spot and be happy.
they don’t need to be feed directly. A healthy anemone can get food from the water.
They also use light to grow. Becareful adding
Reef roids to the tank. You will get algae if you feed too much

While I absolutely agree anemones do not need to be fed. They are more than capable of getting enough food on there own. There is a benefit. I have found. If I don’t feed them once a week. They go walking looking for food. If I like were they are. And they chose to be there. Feeding them. Keeps them there. Because they don’t need to search for food. I have found consistently. If I feed them. They stay put. If I don’t. They walk all over everything
