Another Goodbye.

So long to Roxie. My best buddy for almost 15 years. She had to leave us yesterday after having a stroke.

I tried to avoid another sad post, but you guys are family and Roxie has been on my mind all day.

Now she gets to do this all she wants!

Sorry for your loss, Bill. She looks so peaceful in that picture of her sleeping. You and your family are in my prayers. Glad you felt us family enough to post it up, even if it is sad.

Thanks everyone!

I'm glad you got to meet her too Deb.

She had a great life right up until the last day. She had slowed down a bit and was losing weight, but until the stroke yesterday morning, she could pretty much do anything she wanted.

Bill,
Sorry to hear about Roxie, she was a great dog. Whenever I call my dog Roxy, I will think of you and your family now.

Sorry for you loss, we recently lost our 17 year old pup and it takes time to acclimate to. It is a sad thing to go through.

Sorry about your loss Bill. I know what you're going through. We had to put our 12yr old Scottie, Maggie down on Saturday. :'( Her kidneys shut down. Absolute worse day of my life so far. I was a basket case for three days. Worst part was have to explain to my 4 yr old and believe it or not seeing our other dog searching for Maggie throughout the house was equally painful. You'll see Roxie again. Don't know if you've ever seen this poem... http://www.petloss.com/poems/maingrp/rainbowb.htm

Oh Mike. How sooo sooo sad. Sorry to hear about your loss as well. It is horrible to watch the dog left behind searching for their mate. :-(

Thanks everyone and very sorry for your loss as well Mike.

I'm doing much better today. The whole thing has made me pause and reflect quite a bit.

As a deacon I frequently minister to people with terminal illnesses and conduct numerous wake services. Roxie touched me more deeply than most of those experiences.

I attribute that to the fact that dogs love us unconditionally, but we humans don't usually treat each other the same way. Looks like I have some growing to do.

Thanks again for all the support!

I am sorry for both of you on a loss of a Friend /family member . It was one of the saddest days I remember when we had to put or Boxer Clyde to sleep He also had kidney failure . I still think of him all the time and swear I hear him once and a while . We had him cremated and buried his ashes under a tree we planted in his memory . Time will ease the pain and help you reflect on all the good times you shared. Sorry Again for your loss.
