Anyone every order from Corals plus?

I recently placed an order with Corals plus, and the first week(back in Dec)I had trouble with the site taking credit card orders,so I was patient and worked thru it,placed the order on 1/6,they deducted the $ on the 9th,and I have tried to contact them several times,a few times I spoke with someone and was told they were backed up and to expect my order to ship "soon",so here I wait for either to be contacted or emailed with "your order has shipped"...Im wondering IF I get the order will the fish still be juvenile,or maybe they have grown since then..lol To be cont...

I would tell them to give you a tracking number or you call your cc and do a hold. I don't think any e-tailer should charge your cc and not ship an item...makes no sense. What if the item ends up getting backordered for a month? U just lent them an interest-free loan for 30 days.

Maybe I'm off my rocker (wife says that all the time) -but I'd be careful they don't run off without delivering. Unless they specifically told you they'd charge (e.g. holding fee or non-refundable deposit)...it sounds suspicious. Hopefully someone else who has ordered from them can chime in.

I hear you on this phil,I talked with someone yesterday and they are supposed to ship the order in the next day or so,(I will have to pay extra Saturday shipping *sighs*) but at least I will get the order while Im still young enough to enjoy it ;D even though they didnt have the leopard wrasse. Too bad 'cause they had"too good to be true pricing"...I already know what yr thinking..lol

Just an FYI, if you pick up the package at FedEx depot, they don't charge a Saturday fee.

To further on what Matt said, we always have our orders held at the Fed Ex location in Lakewood. The advantage there is that we can pick it up at 8:30am before it gets loaded on a truck. This way our livestock is already acclimated and in the tank well before the Fed Ex truck would ever get to our house. I would definitely recommend going that route whenever possible.

;D

Let us know how it went...did u go pick up? wait for delivery? You'll have to post pics tomorrow too!

Well its Sunday, and wouldnt ya know, still no shipment,it seems they held the order up for the leopard wrasse, which incidently died anyway. Now Im hoping for the normal delivery days which are Tues to Thurs...I even re-scaped my tank in hopes to get the new tangs..I'll keep everyone posted

Ok update: I havent received the order, they are having "issues" with shipping companies and will be delivering the corals thru their own company(???) yep you heard me right, the owner himself will be driving out this way to do his own deliveries and meet all his clients/customers.To me this seems too good to be true, but Im trying to be patient and give a benefit of the doubt here,so my new ETA is Tuesday of next week. :-\

call your cc and find out when is the last drop-dead date to contest the charges. If it's 30 days (pretty sure this is the case for most companies) - and you were charged on the 9th-just be aware of that date. It'll be like 2/6/7 and don't wait if that is on a weekend...

Thanks for the imput Phil,I will check on that end.Chase thnks also..I was made to believe it was a son and mother team, but reading those posts,Im not sure what the deal is.Tuesday wont come fast enough, its the not knowing thats driving me nuts..

Shipwrecked,

Was just wondering if you ever got your livestock and what happened?

Hope it all worked out! Inquiring minds wanna know ;)

I received the order this past week, the owner of CP delivered it himself,a "drop and run type of delivery" when I opened the box,the chocolate tang was DOA,the powder blue died 4 min later, one of the leathers(unrecognizable)looked kinda like soggy frosted flakes,no leopard wrasse, and I also received 2 toadstools that I didn't order, but was charged for.So the drama cont, but in short I wouldn't order from Corals Plus ever again, even if the livestock were free, not worth the stress.OH,and there wasn't a single heat pack in the box!!! What bothers me the most is in some way I feel as though I was part in the demise of what seemed to be at one time 2 very nice fish.So much for responsible reefkeeping.

Wow, that's awful. I gotta imagine that if your experience is consistent with their level of quality and service, you won't need to worry about ordering from them for too much longer.
