yeah it does help alot it smells like sewage in the house. Im doing 5g a day WC's. And It also helps by pulling the crap out of the water thats floating around still

Phyl the water smell has besided last week water had a dirty yellow look to it.
I added the skimmer yesterday to it in the mid morning to skim dry. Today I went there in the afternoon and the collection cup was FULL of black like tar skimate and the water was extremely clear and no smell what so ever. I havent tested the water yet though. I let it soak in RO/DI water for 24 hours at first w/ a heater, then I added a tunze 6100 and a mag7 for flow. I did 10g WC's everyday w/ high salinity to bring the salinity up. It was at 1.030 JIC there are any hitchhickers somehow I dont know if there would be but JIC still was inside somewhere in the rock. Now week 2 I did 10g WC Mon and Tues. have the salinity back to 1.025 heater set to 81. To my surprise there is very very little debris on the bottom of the tank. I use the tunze once a day to blow off the rocks. The last 2 day I also used it to stir up the stuff that is on the bottom for the skimmer to pick up. I plan now to do a 20g WC every week from now until the end of april when my new tank is supposed to be ready for pick up at aquariums for you. Then from there I will transfer it to the new tank and allow t to be in the new tank w/ the SSB for a month before I start adding any livestock into it. Which from thre I will add one of my fish every week to it until there all in the system. Once that is done and I know the tank is100% stble is when I will add all my SPS and LPS into it. Shouls be sometime in july august I am guessing for everything to be finished
