Apex assistance...

I just hooked up my Apex Jr. (Temp proble is installed), display in connected but will not light up. Getting a green light on the network cable, but cant see the connection though the software. Did a refresh and still nothing. Typed in http://apex and get some business web site...lol

Any ideas...thanks!

Best if you can get the ip assigned to the Apex and use that. If you can go to your router (if the display isn't working) you should see it. Will probably be something like 192.168.x.xx.

Type that in. Or use the app for the iPhone/ipad if you have one. I'm not sure if they have a android app. The app, will search for the apex and link to it automatically.

Been going through headaches with my apex recently send then an email and they are pretty quick to respond , for instance they emailed me back 5pm Sunday they mst have people on call

Thanks, that is my next option. I was hoping it was something simple I'm over looking that you guys might know. I bought it new but off someone, not sure I'll even get support.

Do you have a android or iphone, it's the next easiest way to connect. Download the app, and then have. It search for an apex.

Andriod S4...everytime I go into my network router settings I screw up mu internet access and have to do a system restore...I try the andriod app...

Contacted Apex support, hope they can figure it out. I bought the unit new from a guy, so not 100% sure Apex will support it.

Is it common for the display not to power up when you can't connect the Apex to your router? I hope so, otherwise I may have more that one issue.

once you plug it in onto the main base, it should fire up automatically. its common for the displays to stop working afterawhile though and Apex repairs them for $45 I believe. I had to get mine sent for repairs once.

Well that's not good to hear, I'll wait to hear from support. What a pain, I should just bought a Ranco unit for heater protection.

I would purchase an Apex controller any day before dropping cash on a Ranco controller. I know you might be having trouble now but once you have it setup, it really is a dream and Neptune is constantly coming out with add-ons for it which just make it a better investment.

I personally will never own a controller because it introduces a single point of failure. I control my temp with a ranco, have a tunze ATO (which are bullet proof), and use the built in controller in my light. Just my two cents....

ranco is the way I should of gone.

I agree with ItzJu. The learning curve is a bit harder then a simple heater controller, but the amount which can be done for me out weighs the single point of failure argument. I have programmed my Apex, so that way if it does fail, as is common with power outages where I live, the tank can run on it's own. Yes, it can do that, you just need proper planning and the set up for it.

I thought the Tunze ATO was bullet proof as well. After 4 years of running it, I think my pump got too close to the sensor and it dumped 5 gallons of ATO into my sump :(
