Got a bit ahead of myself with the new build.
Been picking up bits and pieces from fellow club members but decided to go a different route.

Base unit
Energy bar 8
Energy bar 4
Aquacontroller box
Aquacontroller display/control
Wireless connect
VDM unit (controls lights)
Temperature probe
Breakout box
Float switches
All cables and connects
Some small misc bits/cables/connects not in pic

Cost me $350, selling for $350

Dave,
Decided to actually hook it up and use it to see how I liked it, so put it on temp hold till i tested it out.
Unfortunately the Aqua Controller has a huge dead spot on screen and I can't do anything with the unit atm.

Mark, hook it up to your router and configure it with the internal web ui, you can then set up apex fusion through that so you can access it through your smart phone. you do not need the aqua controller display to have the apex function.

What Judeo said.
Any computer will do to set it up, then use pretty much any mobile device as a new and better equipped display

We're having problems with that. I was on the phone with NA for 3 hours today trying to configure and were not having any luck through the computer. They advise trying a new Aquacontroller to see if it can be worked out, if not it may be a hardware issue.

Moved to Equipment conversation.

I have to say that Apex customer support is unbelievable. We've been in and out of conversation and instruction for over 4 hours and they're still nothing but pleasant and helpful.

It seems the problem isn't with the AquaController, its with the brain itself. We've tried multiple times to reset it, reconfigure it's IP, and even return it to its original manufacture programming from 5 years back and its not having any of it. Seems there's a communication error where information is getting through, but not in full.

This morning as I re-listed it, I decided to hook it up and try it out. As I was hooking it up I thought 'I think I'm going to like this thing' and held the sale. I imagined an ATO and some flood switches, powering down pumps at night, etc... Now, 12 hours later, I'm ripping my hair out.

good luck! always found Neptune customer service to be good. they fixed up my brain unit when it started acting up a few years ago and ever since then decided to always keep another brain unit as a backup.

Apex did offer to repair but, of course it was $150 to look at the items ($75 each) plus shipping. They could easily replace the controller, but the Lite is discontinued so if it isn't an easy fix it's a wash, though they would offer me a new unit at a decent discount (but it still outweighs the overall cost).
I have no doubt what-so-ever that this was sold to me honestly, it was probably just one of those things that it got shuffled about a bit after being disconnected and, well, stuff happens.
Oddly enough its the second biggie item I've picked up in the past few weeks that was just a bit older and out of operation on plug in. The other was a pump that had dried out and cracked internally (and was made right immediately).
Think I'm sticking with new (or newish) from now forward.
