Yeah I've noticed that too. I have my 90g build thread on there that has over 1,700 posts in it but now that im done "building" it, its gone quiet. All the regulars that o would talk with aren't even on the forum anymore or atleast that's what it seems Lol oh well. That's why I joined here, all local for the most part

After reading this forum and the Reef2Reef forum, I've noticed how much I dislike Aquarium Advice now. Its not even that, its a bunch of people yelling at you for having tangs in your tank when you're simply asking a question about something else. People can be such a Debbie downer some times ugh.

I still remember a post from a while back where you basically told them don't bother asking about the tang in the breeder cause you don't care. Just always stuck with me.

I was just on there and there was a guy asking what kind of coral he could put into his 75g along with his 2 triggers a dogface puffer and a yellow tang. Yes none of those fish should probably be in that tank but literally all of them, yelled at him for having them.in the tank.and not one person seemed to really care about the coral question Lol

I don't know that I see a problem with that. If the person so obviously cares nothing for the welfare of those fish, I wouldn't suggest any other animals to them. Just me though...

True. Thats an extreme case where the tank is way too small for those fish. Think when you started though, nobody knows much and we make mistakes. If I asked a question and all I got were rude comments and yelling, itd make me wanna leave the hobby. Instead of people being hostile they can politely explain why its not a good fit. I feel like many people on here go about it in the polite way which is why I love this forum so much and recommend everyone to it.

I 100% agree with you kyle, a lot of people on that forum seem like they're only there to bash other people and there tanks. And I hate that. At the end of the day its YOUR tank not theirs. Do what you want with it. Most people know what they should and shouldn't do in this hobby. Everyone has their own opinion.

Ditto. I was there in 2004/2005. The people were too nice. Someone would post something crazy like "I'm thinking about keeping a Port Jackson in my nano. Is that OK?" And everyone was like "oh that should be fine if its what you want to do". Then three weeks later they'd be saying to another newbie, "oh you should be fine with 35 fish in your 20g tank. Heck, there's someone here keeping a Port Jackson in their nano!" It was the epitome of one person doing something stupid and everyone else being to naive or nice to correct them, then going around and preaching it as gospel. Again, that was while ago but once this place took off, I never looked back either.

That's like the complete opposite of what its like now. People get yelled at for wanting to put a yellow tang in a 120g. Like cmon that's not so bad. I have a yellow and powder blue in my 90g. And I don't care what people say, I feed them lots and they're happy
