ATO

I have a Tunze Ozmolaor. (Hopefully spelling is close enough so you all know what I am taking about) the pump fails about twice a week and I have to bang it a few times to get it to go. I called BRS and they said there wasn’t a different brand pump I could use with it. I find that incredibly hard to believe. So I ask you. The much smarter than me people if they have a solution other than using another tunze pump. Oh and it’s less than 6 months old.

I have used a few osmolators over the course of last couple of years. The pump should last at least 3 or 4 years and the replacement is not too expensive. I only replaced one once. So what you have might be a dud. I suggest just get a new one through warranty or pay the $23 or so.

That’s not true I have two tunze ATO and you can use your own pump. Call tunze direct they have great customer service they should replace it if the pump is bad. I have never replaced my pumps they are original.

Now if you use kalkwaser in your ato that will kill pumps.

No kalk and less than 6 months old. Do you think if I dialed up the potentiometer in the control box to max the extra voltage might help kick start the pump?

Worth a try if you're not afraid of overfilling.

I've had 3 osmolators die on me in the past 2 years. I keep buying them because everyone says they're the best but I have not been impressed.

I wouldn't touch the dial unless you're going to change out for another pump

BRS. Said because I am pumping 6 feet up. (Head pressure). I may need to dial up, they said if dialed all the way up. Can lift 12 feet. So standard half way where they set it puts me right on the cusp of its limit. And may be causing pump to stall

Ru pumping from a basement? If so then yes dial it up and see. It could, to your point be a backflow issue. You could also add a small one way check valve to it.

Yes you should dial it up.
You will see a little dial to go from low to high.
But the pump that comes with the tunze is not strong enough to go up 12ft. If I had to go 12ft I would use another pump 6ft should be ok and yes you need a check valve
