I got a box set of movies a couple of days ago(Oceans Alive) and other than looking like it is made as an 80's porn it is very informative. They did a full size experiment in which they took a small reef in the Caribbean and spent days removing all the cleaners wrasses and shrimp etc. Within I believe it was two weeks the reef had suffered greatly. Most the fish had left the others had parasites. I fell asleep at this point and can't report as of yet if the returned the cleaners but i will watch the rest later.

I also bought "Saltwater Aquariums for Dummies" book to give me some pointers and there is a lot of great information in there too. Has a whole section on what fish you DON'T want in your tank. And yes, seahorses were on the list. :-\

LOL! I have it and thought the same thing when I first started watching it. I turned it off and never went back to it. Maybe I'll give it another shot.

The "collector's box" it came in was so cool, I figured it was going to be more like an iMax type show, but yeah, we were both laughing hysterically, making comments about "so this is what porn is like for reefers", LOL

I have to agree wit depitch some of that list is a bit extreme. I had a flame in my first tank for 2 years only got rid of him cause I moved. I guess some of the list is ok to give you the basic rep of a fish. The longer your in this hobby the more you learn and the more you can safely bend the rules. To an extent anyway

My ebxpierience with damsels=happy community fish bothers noone.GRANTED he is a yellow tail but he is absolutely my favorite and you cannot include them in the bad fish list

My first fish was a domino damsel. It was nice when it was tini but once it grew past 1 inch it would chase anything in sight. little 1 inch fish would chase a 5 inch african hippo arround for hours!. needless to say is no longer in the tank

i have a dwarf zebra lion and i have no problems feeding him, he loves his enviroment (i also put special care into getting rock that would help him though) and venemious fish can be kept you just have to be aware of what your doing with your hand in the tank

Davek is right on the money. Hey, I would say you should never keep a goldfish if your gonna put it in a water glass and feed it peanut butter!
