There still time to signup for the beach cleanup. Sat. weather at Sandy Hook is going to be partly cloudy with a high of 63. It will be cool in the morning so I recommend you bring a sweatshirt and a hat. If you haven't signed up and your Sat. plans go south you'll be welcomed with open arms! Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

David, you can bring some of those grabbers if you want, but it's not necessary. You will be bending down a lot if you don't though so yes they will be helpful if you have them.

I included a google map link on the BBQ/Meeting RSVP page that gives directions from Lot D to James' house. Click Here for that.

There should be signs along the main road that label the parking areas by letter, so it will be easy to find. I believe the lot we will be meeting is the one with the restaurant called the Sea Gulls Nest, but it's permanently closed so don't expect to be able to eat there. :( The address of the restaurant was: 100 Hartshorne Dr, Highlands, NJ 07732 ... so you can plug that into your GPS and make things easy.

Also, if you are interested in knowing more about Sandy Hook in general, they have a map on their website. It shows other cool things about the island like where to find the lighthouse, bird observatory, marine science lab, marine academy of science & technology, etc.

George, you identified a winner with that grabber. I actually have a second one still in the bag. I'll bring it along for the first person who slaps down two bucks. Also, if you have a deep tank or short arms (or you're and old fart  ), these are great because they appear to be all plastic. They have good dexterity, able to pick up small stuff, and the only negative is that they most likely won't pick up a soda/beer can....the jaws don't open that wide. But for 99% of the stuff we will be picking up, the best two bucks you could spend.

George I'll take two grabbers if they are $2(or close) and you grab some. I can pp you

Hey everyone dont forget it's always colder by the water. I'm bringing extra layers in case

Good to hear that Paul! I hope they actually have some at my local store.

OK Kyle. I'll grab 2 extra for you if they have them. You can just pay me there.

Good point on the weather. I'd suggest wearing layers and peel off as the day gets warmer or if you start working harder.

OK, David (malulu) texted me that he has 6 extra grabbers. I'm taking 3 of those and Kyle can take 2 more... that leaves him with 1 extra if anyone needs 1. For $2, you can't beat it!

I will slap down $2 bucks or $4 even if there are two floating around. Got all the stuff for the BBQ after. Sandy Hook is 15 minutes ish from my house FYI. If anyone needs to shower or whatnot just ask be glad to lend you a towel.
