Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Time to give back. The Annual NJRC Beach Clean Up will be on April 27th Sandy Hook from 9:00 to 1:00. All are welcome, adults and children. This is part of the Clean Ocean Action Foundation Cleanups. I will post more details when I receive them.
Bob
The event is over at one (usually before). We maybe rescheduling the cleanup to sometime in May. Due to the fact that our monthly meeting is the same day the turnout for this event has been low. I be posting something soon.
You can count me out for this one. It just doesn't make sense to travel 2+hrs one way and a half tank of fuel only to find no one ever shows up. I am also leary if they are even going to allow us near sandy hook. Bob, have you verified that they will even allow people there? I saw newspaper reports that the water was above the windows on those little toll booths and that there was major damage and construction going to happen along that road. I would hate to see anybody get there and be turned around.
Sandy Hook is open for the cleanup. I received the imformation back from the Clean Ocean Action Foundation. We usually have a small turnout to begin with and with the meeting on the same day it's a better decision to postpone until a later date.
Are you sure they will let clean up crews in? I was down there last week and they told me absolutely NO one was allowed int Sandy Hook unless they were there with official documents. I didn't really question them any further.

Sandy hook was closed until today. They opened a couple of sections and it is still in rough shape. They are using ports johns because the buildings aren't open and the sewer and bike path are still messed up. I'm glad this was cancelled and hopefully no one went. But they are open now
