Best way to protect hardwood floors

Hello,

I'm moving on tuesday and before I put the tank in place I'd like to put something down to protect the nice hardwood floor. Any suggestions?

Lol, it might be my funeral home if I eff up those cherry wood floors. I shudder to think what it looks like below my current tank, there goes my security deposit!

I feel ya. I had a rubber mat under a 40b on hardwood. Moved the tank after 6 months and sure enough, there was water damage. A second tank with a solid wood base on the stand gave the same results. Speaking from experience, IMHO, best thing you can do is put the stand direct on the wood and allow some kind of ventilation to occur between the tank bottom on the floor.

Build a steel tube stand with removable panels. Reduce contact with floor and you can clean up as needed. Still damage with the hard to avoid. Also all in one tanks may be better for this.

I have a plastic mat under my tank that I got it from staples. It's the type that you use so chairs rolls on carpet. I've moved it once and the carpet under it wasn't stained only matted down. Should work on hardwood.
