its waterproof and good for 400yards has adjustable shock levels and audible tone. usually after a couple days training what the shock is about when they wear it they are angels. telling your dog to sit in a corner is stupid same as saying no if it doesnt listen. like most children they need positive reinforcement for good things and discipline for bad actions

The shock collars work great. I have them for both my dogs and they have never broken through them. Even when someone is riding their bike or walking by the run but always stop about 2 feet from the line. It does take about a week of training tho.
Its also gives you something really stupid to do when your drunk with your friends. See who can get zapped the longest.

Phyl, I have the Dogtra collars for both of my dogs. They work great with some training. Was recommended and purchased from a known trainer who has trained many police dogs.
If you'd like to talk about them, I'll catch you at the meeting. You could actually borrow mine for a little while if you'd like. Let me know and I'll bring it.

I think we may have used that trainer, Taz! We had a similar trainer who also recommended it. We used his coller on Zenni and it was amazing how a little bit of buzz had her stop on a dime and run to me!

OK, I'll bring it to the meeting
if you have a boxer dont get a electric fence theres no point.. boxers are very smart and realize once they get past the shock line it no longer gets shocked so they make a running leap and never look back. when they do come back they wont come in the yard though 
Grandfather used to breed boxers and i personally watched this happen.
On a funny note, Afghan's when they get lose are GONE! man those dogs can run

i used a shock collar when i was training my bird dog for hunting. he only needed it the 1st week or so. they get the picture after awhile. the beeps as a warning keeps em in line after that. if its the difference between your dog running away and getting slammed by a 4000 pound car or 9 volts to the kneck, id take the shock....without having ever felt it myself. got a weird feeling the tires running ya over hurts slightly more...
