Black or blue tank backround

Hey guys, just trying to get some feelers. I'm thinking about painting 2 sides of my tank but idk what color I like. I've done black in the past, but I'm also thinking about dark or light blue. So what do you guys have and why if you did it for a reason, and I know black is supposed to make it pop.

Unfortunately that's been a slow process at this point. I can't wait for coraline to cover the two sides. I guess my obsession of cleaning the glass is slowing down the process, hence wanting the paint so I stay away.

you may want to check out these vinyl background material from bluelifeusa.com, it is a car like wrap that goes on super easy. Comes in both Blue or black. I went with the black. I like the contrast of the bright colors of the fish and corals against the black background.

The blue life back rounds are nice. I do know a vinyl guy so that could be a nice route to take. The only problem I see is lack of room to work with. It's so hard to decide I've been looking at pictures for days.

I just realized you want to paint the sides and all along I thought it was the back. I will admit the lights will look very nice with 3 sides contained. However, I alike to see what is going in my tank. Having open sides has helped me find frags, sick or dead fish among other things. Just something to consider.

The back and one side. The tank sits in a corner. Madreefer you did bring up a good point with losing frags and finding sick or dead fish. The positive about using paint is I open is would be latex based so I can easily peel it off. Maybe I'll start with the back and go from there

Here's my thoughts.....if you're going to keep the back and side glass clean, black or blue work. However, if you're going to let coraline grow and cover it, I think black would blend in better with the glass being covered. I think blue patches would stick out more. JMTC

That's the thing I don't want to keep it clean I want the coraline to take over. If I paint or vinyl wrap it i will be less inclined to clean.

@Mikeamadio I have a corner tank and put it in the corner with not putting anything on the sides. I was cleaning the glass and then stopped cleaning the glass (cause really couldn't get the mag float down the side to clean it) and the coraline still have not really taken over like one would think. its all over my overflow and I have some small patches on the side glass but not much. Just as a FYI for you

It's weird when I had my 75g and 90g long it grew fast within a couple months I saw it starting to spread. After 2 yrs the tanks were covered now I'm at 10 months with my cube and I only have a little bit in the sump.
