Blue Throat Trigger discoloration

Hey guys. So I've had a Male BT trigger for several months now and when I first bought him he had yellow in his fins and u could see his blue throat really easily like so:

Well for the past few months, he hasn't had the same colors, seems they're faded. Is it bc he's not paired with a female BT? Or does he just need to mature?

Not a fish expert but maybe it's his diet are you feeding him what he needs?

I give him a variety of food, from LRS reef frenzy to NLS pellets and TDO chroma boost pellets, he even eats off the seaweed clip for my tang

No, I've been looking for one for awhile now. No one seems to have one at a reasonable price. I can get one from my LFS but they want $70

My guess is that's the issue. Many fish show more vibrant colors when there is a need to.

That's what I figured, I just wanted to get some other advice from others. Make sure he was ill or anything like that. Ugh I cannot wait to get a female BT.
