Blue Throat Triggers

who has a blue throat trigger in a reef? i want to hear if anyone has any con's. The pro's are obvious- its a beautiful fish.

considering adding male to my 180g reef.

Feng always had one in his old DT. The only cons i guess could be eating shrimp and snails, maybe nipping at coral too. I want to put a small one in my reef too but having enough trouble with my bicolor nipping

I had one in my reef for awhile, until he decided to try and swim through my old overflow and got stuck and died..

That was about the only drawback to the fish! I would recommend it, they are great fish. I never had any problems with it eating snails, shrimp or coral.

exactly what i wanted to hear

oh forgot to mention he jumped on me after 2 days. luckily I was close and heard him flapping an got him back in quick! seemed to learn his lesson and has not done it again.
Ive had him about 6 months.

hope that mine stays in the water! had a couple jumpers over the past couple years- no fun at all.

he's been release to general population. no incidents so far. o kinda thought he'd find a cave and hide out for a while, but he's been out in the open since i released him. he'll probably be running with the pack thinking he is tang in couple days.

gonna try feeding in a few hours.

its offical, this trigger thinks its a tang. he's been running with the pack since day 1, but it took a couple days for him to start hitting the algae clip but he has found his way into the pecking order.

I'm considering getting a female for the male here is why.
I used to raise cichlids and whenever a female is introduced the male would color up like twice as much as normal. although I don't expect them to mate (possible) was wondering if those who have a pair have experienced this.
