Sorry to hear that Brian. That was a nice fish. I lost a fish also,I had a carpet surfer myself yesterday morning. Imagine my face when My 4 year old said"look daddy I have a fish" and handed me a cold semi-wet fish that he found on the floor. I didn't even get a chance to wake up!

Ok, to get back on track...She lost an eye, was recovering fine (or so I thought), but then started to deteriorate...I think she had trouble finding food, honestly. The male is so aggressive during feeding that she couldn't find the food fast enough and she was too shy to be fed with tongs. Hopefully the male doesn't get lonely...I don't have the kind of money to buy him a new "wife".

Got a question for you - I noticed the kalk reactor was pretty full. How often does that kick in? I use an ATO on mine and if I fill it with that much kalk the system jumps to a 9 ph. So i don't load that much into mine.

Just wondering if you are lowering the ph somehow when dosing or if your kalk is set up on a timer instead of ato.
