Is it a good tasting fish ? I've never seen or heard of it ! My family has owned a boat my entire life and we go fishing all the time I've never once caught that ! I may not even swim in the ocean this summer haha
They call it poor mans lobster tails look m taste like a lobster tail,, monk is more of an Asian thing for some reason Americans don’t eat a lot of monk

Monkfish is a favorite eating fish of my younger son. But since I sent him a photo of one, I'm not sure it is still his favorite fish...
Note: monkfish do have peculiar reproductive methology ~ the male attaches himself to the female, and is then gradually and completely absorbed into the body of the female, who then utilizes his reproductive organs to fertilize her eggs.
Go figure...

They are also one of the fastest growing fish in ocean they get pretty big and eat everything I’ve seen 10lb striped bass in stomach before even a smaller monk along with half dozen bunker
