BRS GFO standard or high capacity?

Ok as my reactors get ready to go online it's time to order the gold dust aka BRS high capacity GFO at lease that what I think I'm buying at $100 for 3.5lbs is it really necessary???
Is there anyone out there with a large tank that runs BRS standard GFO???

Any thoughts on this guys

Really depends on the reactor size. If u can fit 3-4 cups of gfo AND maintain flow. the standard will work just like the hc version. But since we normally have the brs regular reactor the hc is needed so that we put less media I'm the reactor

Thanks Edwin!!! I never thought about the reactor capacity standard BRS reactor holds 2 cups GFO if I use standard GFO I would need to add 2.81 cups no way would I get any flow from that
High capacity is 1.41 looks like I need to use high capacity

I have been very happy with the Dr fosters gfo. Cheaper than bulkreef, and free shipping over 50$

I ran standard BRS GFO, still have some left actually. I changed to Rowaphos soon after. I found the BRS GFO really messy.

I currently do not use either anymore though as I decided to use biopellets instead.

It seems to be pretty cheap $50 for 4L and 500ml will treat my system so it should last long so you run it in the reactor same way you run GFO?
