I went to move my bubble coral into the new tank but the entire head popped off and floating around. What should I do?

Leave it, I believe they are like frogspawn and use that as a defense mechanism.

It should be ok, hows the rest of it?
 
How's it doing now? Never heard of them doing that. Maybe find/create a low flow area for it to settle down and regrow a new skeleton?

Lights are out and will see whats up in a little while.
Had this thing for a year and stayed alive after all the dinos problems and all the dosing I did.
Hate to lose it because of a move :(

It can survive, but it's rare. It's a last ditch effort to survive. In an environment like our reef tanks, chances are that moving a few feet to another part of the tank isn't going to fix what ever the issue is that made it try this survival tactic in the first place.
