I think I have the worse luck with bulk heads as the first ones I install always seem to fail on me.
Today, I noticed a small drip coming from my return bulk head. It has been running fine for the last month with no issue. But sure enough a hair line crack formed. I was very care on the install of the return to not over tighen it, but maybe someone or thing bumped it.
I called a few places within where I wanted to drive, no one had a 3/4 bulkhead. I needed a quick fix. I had in my plumbing box some emergency pipe wrap, but I knew it wouldn't help for the crack where the threads were, so I tried putting pipe dope (reactorseal) on the threads and then wrapped it with the wrap. It worked!!
So if your unlucky like me with bulkheads, pipe sealing tape and pipe dope is a must in the emergency kit.
