Wondering why my calc/mag seem to swing in the opposite directions?

My tridents numbers get wacky when I am running low on reagents. If you are running low change it and calibrate it and see what your numbers are.

What are you dosing for calc and mag

That dos looks like it’s dosing a lot.

Calc and mag are down to 20% and alk over 50%. I’ll recalibrate when I change them. I’m dosing 3,000ml of kalk daily through the Kalk stirrer.

I am dosing about the same In kalk.
160ml x 24 hr = 3,840
Are you adding any vinegar to the kalk ?

I’m not. What’s the benefit of vinegar?

It allows you to dos a more concentrated kalk
So you can dos 3 teaspoons instead of 2 per gallon.
You can google the benefits of vinegar dosing to your reef.

If you are using. Reactor you have to continue to dose kalk powder to make sure the mix is still concentrated.
The reason I use a jug instead of a kalk stirrer is that when my jug is empty I know I have to fill it up with water and add more kalk.

Ok gotcha. I’ve had the stirrer going for 2 weeks now and about to add a cup of kalk into the stirrer tonight

My 7 gallon jug gets replaced weekly with 14 teaspoons. So two week feels like a long time.
If I add vinegar then I do 21 teaspoons

It seems to be still dosing ok I’ve only had it going a few weeks now and still dialing it in. I don’t have a high demand tank just small frags.
