Can anyone identify this?

OK, I just found these little guys on my rock. I am not sure what they are. My wife thinks the buttons are spreading to the nearby rock. I can't imagine they would spread that way or that quickly. They have only been in the tank for a week and in that spot for a day. My thought is they are some type of tube worm or feather duster. Any input would be great.

Look up colonial hydroids, if it is them, throw the rock out.

My rule of thumb I like to follow is that if I didn't put it into the tank purposely then it doesn't belong.

OK, so I am not sure what they are as they look like they could be so many different things at this point. I found some advise that sounds good. I read to remove the rock, hit the area with a blow torch and put it back. That way I will stop whatever they are and can keep my rock and don't have to add any chemicals to my tank.
