Technically they didn't build the tanks at the Marlins stadium either, they had the tanks outsourced to China, and just installed them. I wonder if it's the same kind of deal. They didn't "make" the tank but were contracted the the job and installed the coral inserts, filtration system (and possibly the tank?).

Seems like a good way to cover your behind.

Basically, this is a very keen way for them to get out of having any responsibility in the publics eye. ILC doesnt build alot of their tanks, they outsource them to china and other people. Either way they it is a tank they worked on so they are now associated with it.

The worst part is that before it hit the news they took this tank off their website. basically trying to distance themselves. If they didnt boast about it being there tank on their website id give them a pass but it was there and removed.

this in my eyes is another reason why acrylic tank manufacturing is still a superior company. They do their own work and dont outsource tanks. The tank is the most important part of the whole setup.

Sorry Barry have to disagree with you here. After going through two defective tanks of my own and doing much research on acrylic tank builders, I found out they are pretty much the idiots they appear to be on the show. They DO NOT build a top-quality tank, even though they build it themselves...

And no, the OG mentioned company did not build my first 2 tanks!! Those idiots would be Casco/North American Pet.

I agree with Barry in that it's pretty shady of ILC to now hide in the shadows and claim it wasn't their tank... when all along they've been advertising it as theirs until now.

Personally, after watching both of those shows on TV (Tanked and Fish Tank Kings), I wouldn't give either of them any work because I wouldn't trust them. I love their ideas and how their finished products look, but they seriously lack the knowledge and experience I would like to see in a manufacturer for me. They're just too careless in their work and to me that means trouble down the road.

Honestly, I'm not surpised this leak happened in the casino. I wonder if ILC's show will stop production now with all the bad press?

just for your info I had seen a special about A T M bret actually said its a show trying to get viewers . not a by the ## And technical ...show . its a show on tv with scripts and bs .but for sake of arguement i like (A t M) over (F T K ) but im sure we all learned something!!

With regards to Tanked, I dunno - I watch it for it's value in terms of killing time. I do not watch it to garner any particular insight. Although when they went to the wholesaler, the owner there was clearly very knowledgeable. It would be interesting to see a show about that operation! but one can imagine that to be boring after one episode. They used a place called www.exoticreefimports.com

As for Living Color, that is a big time CYA.

Not everyone can agree on everything. Im ok with that. Superior was a strong word but it i said it because they do stuff in house.

The one fact that bothers me is that they took it off their website. That alone is so shady. They look like they are trying to hid the fact that they are even associated with it.

Darren your biased against any acrylic tank. JK
