I am almost identical to TanksNStuff for what it is worth.

as in a big time video game lover? I never knew! ;D

Haha! How did you know that Phil? My reply to MBodells' thread?

Sid... I eradicate all my asterinas when I find them in my DT!

I'm using the same bulbs as George, so now I know it's not my light. My Chaeto is almost gone. I'm guessing it's my lack of nutrients. My Hanna meter always measures 0.00. My Mangroves also appear to have slowed very much, too.

George, Mine never seem to do any harm I just have a abundance of them

i am with tanks on the asterinas...frankly i think they are ugly - so i try and remove them where i can. Now that my invert-hungry yellow coris wrasse is in fish heaven - i noticed my asterinas coming back more and more.

starcraft 2
diablo lord of destruction

pretty much most RTS are fair game. I can't play FPS though. I want to say there used to be a few guys on this board that liked FPS (brian? john?).

sorry guys for the off-topic post.

This is my thread and if it happens again Hawk, I will be forced to report you to a MOD ;D
I'm kind of nervous - don't want to come off as hijacking your thread :) but I'm having a similar issue
I got a nice clump of Chaeto from Tanks - nice bright green a full of all kinds of life.
Here's a shot when it first went in my fuge (roughly june 24th)

and here's a shot from this morning (sorry my camera lens got screwed up and everything's blurry)

96ec9ee4.jpg

it's expanded in volume but "browned" quite a bit - the early shot shows it about the size of a football, not it spans the width of the fuge - it's doubled or tripled in size. That would be good (I thought) but it's dramatically lost color. There appears to be brown algae growing on it and the brown algae has a ton of bubbles (releasing O2 I guess?). If I turn it over or dig in a bit it is darker green on the areas that get less light. My first theory was that the brown algae is blocking light but I guess the areas that saw less light should be worse if that was the case.
Flow - just what's diverted from the DT drain - split with about 20-25% goes to the fuge the rest going to a sock in the skimmer section.
Lighting - just an LED flood bulb - I need to look into the specs on that - not sure what they are but I still haven't made doors for my stand so the fuge gets lots of natural daylight. My tanks in a "glass room" with 3 walls and ceiling/roof are fully glass, so even if the reverse cycle lighting from the bulb is the wrong color temp, I thought the natural light would compensate.

Again, sorry if I hijacked this thread but I thought starting a new one on the same question might be irritating

Thanks to Info from energy star's site I found that my feit bulb is 3000 deg Kelvin. Guess that's not cutting it. I'll be looking for a daylight bulb like what rants linked to and hopefully it's not too late.

Was it supposed to be 6500k? or was it unlabeled

It was unlabeled - but it's not like it was sold as "daylight" or "grow" I guess I was just a bit too anxious to get into LEDs :)

oh, and "like what rants linked to" should read "like what tanks linked to" -- @#%&*$% auto correct -
