Changing pump. How many times turnover do I need?

I am re-doing my sump and pump. How many times tank turnover do I need?

I was going to use a Blue Line 20. Using the head loss calculator I would have 5.5 turnover. Is this OK? I also have three Tunze Nano Sreams 6055 in the tank.

I also have a Blueline 30 hanging around that I could use if needed but if it is not needed, I would go with the smaller one.

Thanks,
Ken

The more flow the better! Throw the big one on and see how everything reacts. You can always change it back Nice tank btw

Thanks for the tank comment. I know the larger would work. I was trying to see if I could get away with the smaller/quieter one.

Thanks. I was using the 7.2 turnover one (Blueline 30). However I had the ball valve not opened all of the way.

If i remember right if the valve is closed more then 1/4 of the way you do need a smaller pump.. was the pump submerged? if so getting a smaller pump would cut down on the heat given off from to much water restriction from the lager pump... something that might help you.. it did me!
