Charcoal bag clogging pumps HELP

I noticed that the charcoal bag is pulled up into the pumps, is there a better way to configure this chamber? The chamber has a biofilter on the bottom and then the charcoal filter, both are below the pumps. This is how the instructions said to put it togther. The tank is a Red Sea Max 34 gallon. Thank You.

Regards,

Scott

Try putting the carbon on the bottom. If the media bags still get sucked up into the pumps, try putting a filter sponge under the pumps to hold the carbon down. Try to find a sponge that is not very dense, so it will not block the flow.

Thanks, When you install one of those baskets, it's my understanding that a new skimmer needs to go along with it. I've been looking at the Aqua-Medic and the Tunze, does anyone reading this have any experience with either of these brands?

oooh i didn't realize the RSM has a built-in skimmer? I use the tunze nano 9002 for my bc29. It is finicky but I barely have any life in the tank so that's probably why minimal stuff is being taken out. It did well for me (when tuned in) when I was growing out clownfish fry.

That stated, I believe the best nano skimmer was made by a hobbyist under the sapphire brand, but he went thru a divorce and the business ended.

Maybe tie a rock to the bag - that woudl seem the simplest.
