Cheto in a bucket?

Can cheto survive in a bucket with just sw and light?

Reason I ask is since I'm doing lights out I pulled the cheto so it wouldn't just fall apart. Should I just trash it or should I leave it be and see what happens?

It will be fine. Are you doing lights out in the DT or sump. If DT then keep the sump going.

Ah alright, well, it should be good. If you do need more cheato eventually, let me know. I grow plenty lol.

Gotcha. The cheato should be fine. Just keep the water warm and moving so as not to lose the life in the cheato. Just a small PH should be fine.

So there has to be some sort of water movement. Would a bubbler work?

I would think so. Tough that could get you a bit of salt splattered everywhere. Heck you could probably just give it a stir every once in a while.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I had chaeto in a bag floating in my tank for seven days and it survived. I had an issue with getting my fuge online.

If you end up needing some, I have plenty.
