Chevron tangs from swap

What other fish are in the system and how long was it in your tank before it died?

besides what spotter asked - i am also curious how long the fish was in the bag before it was introduced to your tank. Did you stay for raffles? What i'm getting at is - normally a person buys a fish and brings it home to start acclimation. Some people will also set up a Quarantine Tank especially when purchasing from shops that they are not already familiar with (I did this for all my fish when i first started). Did you

a) stay at the swap the entire time with a fish in the bag? or
b) did pop hold the fish for you until you left the swap? or
c) just purchase the fish and left the swap?

Yeah,
Some of my friends call me crazy but these days when buying a new fish. I tend to run a FULL battery of tests on the water the fish came out of. I purposefully run my quarantine tank at a very low salinity... 1.015 MAX. Most fish stores are sending fish with salinity hovering around 1.014-1.019.. I try to match my salinity by adding or removing water from my quarantine tank. Then I drip for about 20 minutes and add to the tank. My losses have reduced drastically as a result of this testing.

I didn't buy a chevron at the swap but I really wanted to. They looked beautiful. I think I would have left the fish in their tank until the end of the swap if I did.
