CLEANING MICRON SOCK?

I just started using micron socks and am not sure how to clean/wash them. How do you fellow sock users take care of this? I was thinking about using bleach, detergent.
Thanks, NYCReefer

I was flipping them inside out then using hot water cycle in the washer with no bleach. now i use a dab of bleach and triple rinse cycle them. also don't turn them inside out any more

i was cleaning them in the sink for a while then started to put them in the washing machine with bleach and an extra rinse cycle.then let air dry(2 days)

mostly being lazy. i do every other time though. It's quite nasty to dunk my whole arm in there to pull the bottom up.

Agreed on the nasty factor, however, I think I'm finally numb to it. When I started in the hobby, I "suited up" when I cleaned my skimmer, now I think I might even like the smell.

I have been turning them inside out and washing them in bleach for years. I usually run the washer 3 times. First time full dose of bleach and the second 2 times just water.

Seems like alot of water and electricy use to clean a few socks. :-\

Wonder if I could set something up on my RO\DI's waste water to clean the socks while It makes water. Someone told me its 4:1 4 being the waste, damn.

I guess it's all relative.

I use the mini cycle on my machine so the water usage is negligible and I have a well.

As for the electricity usage, I run 3-400W MHs and 4-160W VHO's. Once you're able to come to terms with that electricity usage, a couple of wash cycles per week is lost in the noise.
