Cleaning power heads

Does anyone have a cleaning reg for there power heads? The reason I ask is I had a braker pop last night and when I got it back on my power heads came on reversed. Shot all types of gunk all over the tank. Are these something I should be cleaning from time to time ?

I give mine a good cleaning every few months or so. I just pull one and let it run in vinegar for a couple of hrs. Then give a good scrub to remove everything. I like my heads to not have corriline on it as eventually it will impede flow. After scrubbing I run in some rodi or a bit of water from a WC then replace and do the next one.

I clean mine every six months or earlier if needed. Mostly coraline growing though. I dip them in a vinigar bath over night. 2 at a time. Then scrape off the coraline and rinse them well in RO water and let them run for a few hours in the RO beofre i put them back in the tank.

I clean mine every 6 months or as needed. I soak 1 pump overnight in viniger next day scrub and repeat process with the next pump ,I continue this until all pumps are clean.

We clean power heads every 2-3 months, depending on how yucky they are getting. We do a vinegar and water bath for at least 1 hour, and then take apart and scrub with a toothbrush. To remove coraline, we have used MagiClean, but it did soften the plastic of the powerheads we cleaned so I would use it sparingly.

I don't dilute....use it straight and let it soak at least overnight and scrub with a small brass wire brush. You can find these at the dollar store alone with a stainless steal and plastic wire brush in the set.

I clean my mp10's once every 3 months by soaking them in a water and vinegar mixture. It is about 1:1 ratio.
