Cleaning the glass

I've seen plenty of pictures of numerous tanks and have visited people with some pristine tanks and I want to know what you do to keep your glass so clean and free of algae. Even when the corals are too close to the glass to clean them with a hand scraper, the glass still seems to be so clean. So how do you keep your glass clean? I use a magnetic scraper, have turbos and still can't seem to get that pristine glass I always see.

in addition to twice weekly (minimum) glass cleaning, keeping a light fish load or serious filtration, small frequent feedings, staying up to date on maintenance, and most of all, let the system age. Get through all the diatom, cyano, and other blooms and in addition to above you should be ok

NAAAAAA, its not like that at all. People clean the glass when they know you are visiting them. ;)

Ahhhhhh! So it's all a trick to sucker people into this blasted hobby, eh?? Show us a diamond and all we'll ever have ourselves is coal. Nice....

Best invention ever is a ReefGadget. Gets your glass clean in a way no other technology can. Unfortunately the maker has gone underground and you'd need dynomite to blast him out. Glad I already have mine!

I do the best I can with a Mag Float and razor blade, not the plastic crap they sell.

Aqua Oceans sold me a mag float and an attachment I had to superglue to it that holds replaceable razors to scape glass.
Pretty much simular to the link above.
That works like a charm ;) I think it gets glass much cleaner then just mag float.
If I scrape slow the algea comes off in sheets and tangs eat it up as a treat.

Aqua Oceans

where's Aqua Oceans?

Route 9 in Toms River, just South of Route 70.

hmm, i might be down that way next. is this an 'off the shelf' product there?

Vikki uses the same thing as me , seen her link with picture , It's great!

usually instock little gagget or will get in if ask for it, can call first
They also carry the replacement blades for it.
Never leave the scraper in the tank ,
Always remove when done, I take apart & dry razor to prevent rusting ,
This is very easy to do
Also, never go to close to the corners where silicone is as razor is sharp.
