Well im breaking down my nano to get ready to move the new 90 in place. The nano has a snocasso and a true perc that have been together since Jan. my other tank will be used as a holding area until the 90 is ready. That tank is a 44 gal corner unit. It currently houses a couple of occelaris clowns that have been joins at the hip since sept. They currently host every hammer and frogspawn in that tank.
If I put the two from the nano into the 44 will I expect problems. They will be in the same tank for a couple of months at most. The 44 also has a kole, hippo, and blue spot watchman. Any thoughts. Thanks in advance.

If you put both pair of clowns in the 44g, yes, you will likely have a problem. Unless your clowns are still juvenile, a 44g is too small for 2 pair of clowns. If either pair is close to spawning, they will kill the other pair.

I’ve tried adding a second pair of clowns twice…..both times were total failures. Don’t do it World War III!

unfortunately i have to agree with nikki and paul. I even tried adding 3 juvis to a tank with a mated pair. The female of the pair was the mother but the "step" dad didn't like two of the three for some random reason or other. First they persecuted one little guy (had to fish out) then they starting chasing another. Right now I have the mated pair and one juvenile. They still chase the juvi every once in a while (male moreso than the female) but tolerate it's presence. When the anemone is inflated, the juvi can hide in it as long as the male doesn't spot it. When the male is tending the eggs, it is rarely in the anemone and that's when I see the female and juvi the most in the nem.

so long story short - it is unlikely they can coexist but you never know. I think clowns being from the damsel family make them just nasty, with maroons being the worst. Although in your case you don't have any maroons which is probably a very good thing.

Well as luck would have it, I got a babysitting offer from one of the vendors here. Problem, and future sale averted.
