Clownfish Not Eating/Hyperventilating

Don't know what the story is but he is breathing fast and not eating. Has been like this for 2 or 3 days.... Any ideas?

I guess that mustbe it but the gills don't seem to be inflamed.

Have you tried some frozen or live brine shrimp? That might entice it to eat. Just a thought!

I tried everything. Blood worms. Brine shrimp. Frozen scallop, clam, shrimp. Both Darwin's showed the same behavior and both kicked the bucket very disappointed. Glad they were in a qt with only 2 other fish.

Sorry to hear that. How long have you had it in the QT tank? Any signs of the fast breathing, etc. while they were at the LFS?

I just got a few clowns. That would only eat flakes. I would give that a shot

Tried flakes too. I bought them unseen and they would not eat for me at all.

Mine did that...turns out it was from the thrive i tried to dose..even doing less then the reccomened dosage it cause a oxygen depletion that killed one of my picassos but i managed to save the other..it also knocked of corals and other fish but inverts were fine

Maybe don't concern yourself with the eating, they can go many many days without. I'd suggest you research wetwebmedia.com with the symptoms and I bet you'll find something and what to do. If you don't find anything, take a picture and email it with your observation to Bob Fenner at wetwebmedia.com. He responds pretty quick and will know how to proceed.
