Clowns laid eggs again this morning

This is the sixth...maybe seventh batch.

I dunno -i think keeping the tank temp at 80 has gotten them in the mood again. The last batch was well over a month ago.

Based on an 8 day target - they should hatch after dusk on the night of the 18th - which is perfect since I don't have work on the 19th.

Now I need to borrow a microscope to verify my rotifer culture is going ok. Hmmm - maybe I should start a second bucket.

Decisions. Oh I need to start a WTB for tile...lol.

Very cool! Will you try to collect this batch or wait or the tiled batch? Wish I could convince my pair to return to spawning. But I think they're still mad at me for getting rid of their BTA.

So have you raised clownfish before?? Mine spawn all the time....I've thought about trying to raise the fry, but then turned away, because what do I do with all these fish once they grow?

Sell them to locals or fish stores! Reduce our dependancy on wild caught! :)

Per mofib - if you take a plastic straw with a small tip cut correctly, you can slowly peel a few eggs off the wall and inset into an inverted bell with an airstone underneath. I can't explain it but I'm going to try that with a few.

The rest I will wait until next friday night and try and capture them as they hatch via a slow siphon.

I have the 10gallon pre-meta tank ready. The post-meta grow-out will hopefully be the bc29.
But i am getting way ahead of myself. First - capture hatch the eggs. Then we talk rotifiers, baby brine shrimp, maybe some reed's orhime food.

it would be nice to see it in live or video of your nursery.

would love to have a nursery - but first i have to wait 8 days for the eggs to mature and hatch. If i get 99% failure that would still be an accomplishment because at least i tried...

Look at pots for plants for your tile. Really cheap and you can get different shapes out of it. When we were down in disney they used a full pot for the clowns to lay eggs in (which they did) and made it easier to move around. If you don't want to use the full pot you can break/cut it up into many different sufaces shapes.
